Themed Eyewear Stand – 1920’s Edwina Booth – style on stage

My pre-holiday “Santa’s Workshop” time is a creative session I truly enjoy. Each year, I come up with something for almost everyone on my Christmas list. This year’s 1920’s-themed eyewear stand is sure to please …and I think it’s pretty cool so I wanted to share it with you. (I haven’t given it to her yet, so hush.)  Continue reading Themed Eyewear Stand – 1920’s Edwina Booth – style on stage

Summer ’12, Why My Labradors Love The Gas Station.

The summer of 2012 hasn’t been the best passing of time. In my laziness over the winter (see; radiculopathy) I’ve grown fat. The entirely ugly process of one’s 40’s are overwhelming. I’ll need new clothes come Autumn. ..ones with pockets to hold my eyeglasses would be appropriate.

Gathering of:
I actually attended my 13th Vibes this year, thanks to Bara for her insistence.

I had so much fun in the sun with a beer in my hand that I left severely sunburned. It’s been 11 years since I burned my skin off that thoroughly. Vibes was expensive @ $85/day. …and they still seem to have lost the purpose. Continue reading Summer ’12, Why My Labradors Love The Gas Station.

Easter Weekend 2012

Our annual visit to Colebrook on Easter Weekend is never less than amazing, thanks to my incredible Aunt. When the Easter bunny shows up and the kids gather round it brings meaning to tradition and value to family gathering. I am so lucky to have been born of these beautiful folks.

I always have a favorite photo I’m willing to share. I do like this one of Debra messing with her steer:

There’s always a first. Mine’s a 1966 Seiko 5 Sportsmatic Deluxe

It began with the requirement; “analog watch with a second hand” – A watch for school, to record patient’s vitals. A $25 Timex would have been perfect, but, of course, I have to be difficult.

I queued dozens of watches in my Amazon wishlist. Querying the members of was all it took for me to become hooked on horology. Since then I’ve begun to create a list of my watches here on, buying vintage pieces online and delving into the world of watchmaking. Continue reading There’s always a first. School’s going great and…

I’ve started Volunteer work while I am still disabled. It’s been great and not at all difficult or uncomfortable. For some reason I am able to get under the skin of the difficult and depressed… but I stay well away from the bitchy.

Tomorrow I find out my scores on the mid-term and hopefully will pass my skills evaluation.

PS: I get a shot in the neck on the 29th. Keep your fingers crossed they don’t pith me. (see pithing)

Update: 3/27 – I know it’s the 27th because FedEx is supposed to deliver a package that has been sitting in Stamford for 48 hours and will take them two more days to deliver. I’m really glad Tom Hanks lost Wilson. Serves him right for getting paid to promote such a crock.

I got a 94 on my mid-term, serves me right for not thoroughly reading the chapter on “Senses”.

The shot in the neck is called a Cervical Transforaminal Injection. …day after tomorrow.
