“Hi Kim,

You have deactivated your Facebook account. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging into Facebook using your old login email and password. You will be able to use the site like you used to.

Thanks,The Facebook Team”

Why are millions of users leaving facebook?

I don’t really know but for me, their wonderful features detract from reading the narcissistic bull$hit my 148 friends write.
Just give us your usernames and passwords and we’ll find everyone you’ve ever encountered online… we’ll contact them on your behalf, show them your picture and even put words in your mouth for you. Now, we log every ‘session’, name all your internet devices, want to know what banks you use, stores you shop at… We’ll even decide what you will read …whoa! Not really a college network anymore, is it?

-

When I first logged on to Skype, I mistakenly clicked some button that allowed Skype to scour my computer for addresses and it got them, hundreds in all~!!! There was every contact I have ever entered into my ‘Address Book’, mostly businesses, expired numbers, or expired relationships. Certainly none of those people would I ever call from Skype. So, when I logged into Skype from anywhere in the world, I was confronted with a daunting list of ppl that I have no interest in associating with, but Skype thinks I know them, like them, associate with them and would like to call them…from a computer no less! I’m pretty sure their business model just craves more, more, more so they’ll be valued higher, just like facebook’s motivation to “deactivate” rather than “delete” your profile. That way they have “this many” usernames and passwords, not really an indication of active users but a way to ‘appear’ better to investors.

Check out facebook, you could spend a day just learning about all their (helpful) features. The best part for me is the ability to share with friends I wouldn’t ordinarily see. The thing that bothers me the most about facebook is not a privacy concern, as I post what I’d like to share with the whole world, but that fact that facebook seems to think I only want to see the people who have interacted with me ‘recently’.

Sometimes I say to myself, how come so-and-so hasn’t posted on facebook this year? I never see his or her face. So, I look at my friends list, which is damn hard to find, and I click on my long-lost friend… WTF, there was a post an hour ago, this person updates often- Why can’t I see this on my news feed?

They seem to think that the person that keeps commenting on my profile is the one I want to read about… but all that person contributes is more narcissistic bs. My news feed is inundated with the incessant updates of simpletons but I can hardly access the content that is meaningful. It’s a huge waste of time trying to battle all the default settings, constantly introduced invasive features all so I can read more from the minds of the imbalanced.

wkp.us

I’ve been streaming Netflix on my PS3 since Netflix distributed the discs. It’s been the form of ‘television’ entertainment I enjoy most but lately I’ve been experiencing problems with my Playstation.

For some reason the ethernet port no longer works on my PS3. This could be a mechanical issue related to lightning, product failure or something else however the wireless function works so I pick up our network wirelessly and all was well.

Recently when I load the Netflix disc, the screen remains black for a longer than normal time. The PS3 is lagging terribly. If I eject the disc, the PS3 is bogged down and takes an inordinate amount of time returning to it’s home screen. Without a restart the PS3 barely functions.

In lieu of streaming on PS3 we just switch to the Wii which also connects wirelessly but does not lag, does not fail and works just fine! I am not talking about a lag in the streaming, I am talking about the Playstation itself no longer responding. Ejecting the disc works but then the PS3 is sooo slow it won’t even load the images on the home screen.

I think the PS3 delivered a cleaner image so I want to know what’s up? No searches resulted in the answer so I’m documenting our problem today.

I am a huge fan of Netflix and my PS3.

wkp.us

wow. I’m so good.
This past weekend I moved all my sites. The move included two Drupal sites, two stand-alone WordPress sites and one large multi-site WordPress MU site.
As of this morning all DNS updates are established and all the sites seem to be working! I can hardly believe it.
For some reason DNS actually took 12 hours on the MU domains. It was unnerving waiting for them to update.
I’m so happy. Now for the big changes.
