I can’t feel my left index finger. It has been tingling since Dec. 20th. (2 wks. 4 days) I’ve dropped two glasses unable to detect my grip on them and several times I’ve subjected the numb fingers to the point of injury…since I can’t feel when it hurts.
It’s not going away. It’s getting worse.

Any advice?

Update – 1/9/12: I have a week for the Dexamethasone to work or…. God knows.

I wonder if I should capitalize the T in twitter. Should such a feminine name be capitalized? My use of twitter is predominately reserved for the rare event I am without electricity but still have a cell signal. It does happen after a storm and while horseback. 

Throughout 2011 I haven’t been very active on any of the dozen websites I host that draw regular traffic because of a realization. I’ve been purposely neglectful because at some point this year my writing style became offensive to me. I exaggerate and embellish. I don’t care about the topic, the message or the content. I’m purposely antagonistic and too lazy to be complete or intellectual. Basically I suck at it and I shouldn’t be the one writing anything other than project manuals and repair tutorials.

I started a Twitter account using my real name and linked it here. I don’t know if that’s completely insane or just insane. @wkpUS follow me…hahah.. I not much of a follower myself.

So, I sit here trying to remember my new slogan… is it embellish obfuscation? exhibit obfuscation?  …no, opposite those. It’s something I don’t do. Oh yeah; Echew Obfuscation. I kinda want to get that tattooed inside my lip. (no.)

It’s December. That special month of the year when in the hour of greatest darkness we celebrate. It’s a buzz.

For myself the month is introspective. As the last month of 2011 passes, I take stock:

I remember the moment, in my fourteenth year, when I outgrew my size 9.5 Timberland Men’s Classic Lug 3-Eye Boat Shoe and bought my first pair of size 10.5 shoes. (the same shoe.)

A few months before my 40th birthday I went to an Optician for some vanity contact lenses for my Halloween costume and came home with an appointment six months later for reading glasses.

I guess that’s how age gets you.

Blessed with the perfect metabolism, acute senses and overall excellent health, my body has never failed me. I am strong and lean and I have a thick head of hair.

I walked in to that optician’s office thinking about an upcoming party and walked out facing a disquieting reality: I’m losing my perfect vision on 40th birthday. …and that’s not all.

I’d been warned. Admittedly, it’s hard to believe a certain birth day could trigger anything more than a hangover and a belly full of cake but it has happened.

My belly is bigger.. or just drooping. I think my skin is changing texture this year. I find it frightening. I’ve had things happen that I’ve previously only heard about, and unending pain. There’s hair growing over my shoulders. I seriously thought I had newer genes than that. Should I shave my shoulders? …why bother. No one ever sees me.

So, 44 is knocking at my door. I wonder what it’ll bring? I currently have no idea what size my feet are, if they’re even the same. Though I clearly remember the day my feet changed from size 9.5 to size 10.5, it wasn’t until my 40th birthday that they changed to size 11.5.

I needed glasses to write Christmas cards this year. (need them) As 44 rapidly approaches, my left arm is tingling and the fingers numb. A nerve is pinched. I would like to be more flexible.

I’m interested in Buddhism. Buddha was a persistent fellow.  I need to be a little more persistent.

Day after such a significant loss and I still can’t keep from complaining about this damned buggy Mac OS. What a pain in the …. how long have I been an Apple user? More than 25 years now and I have never experienced such a buggy, glitchy, problem-ridden operating system. 

OSX Lion was not ready to be released. It is plagued with problems and soooooo irritating! I can’t seem to get to my dock when in full-screen mode. I can’t get to Mail.app when I click on the icon in the dock. I can’t use Image Capture while iPhoto is open. …and these gestures, which I love, seem to contradict one another.

It’s very irritating to have to fight the operating system just to browse a website and check your mail.

How about when you cmd+n, opening a new window in Safari… why doesn’t the cursor go to the address field? Why should I have to cmd+N then cmd+L…? such a pain in the ….! RIP – these problems are no longer your Jobs.

Although I started this morning early, thanks to my neighbor’s short-to-live rooster, in shorts… I think today is the first day for pants.

Come Spring, when I pull out my ‘summer’ clothes and don the first pair of shorts of the season I wonder when I last wore them.. making note: Today, Sept 16th is the first morning below 60º and the need for pants is upon us.

I called Animal Control… which wasn’t my first instinct.

Hi.

I have three unique inventions which I would like to see manufactured.

I want to do something about them. Does writing a letter to myself actually offer any protection? lol… I need to make these things. One is a life-pursuit and has worldwide impact… why not start writing inventions down? Why not just go public with them?

If I post an article detailing a cool invention and someone goes ahead and makes it… do I have any rights?

Further, is it really worth the hassle of patent lawyers and fighting the lawless East? Could the process be more like making a movie, where there’s a producer, production teams, design and research… and a director <–me! …or do I just go it alone – contract someone to make it and wing it? – I’d rather have a huge Co. take over everything…. or maybe not. I think I will completely detail and create a prototype of one of these “inventions”.
